The off-road racing accomplishments of Ivan "Ironman" Stewart might never be matched: 82 major wins in desert racing, 17 of them in the crash-and-bang Mickey Thompson stadium series, three Baja 1000s and others too numerous to squeeze in here over a career that spanned 30 years. We haven’t tried to do the sums yet, but we’re beginning to wonder if Bugatti has produced more ‘Special Edition’ cars than MINI has? Certainly, in a sales volume to special edition ratio, they must be streets ahead. And now we have yet another Special Edition Veyron. The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse Jean-Pierre Wimille Special Edition (for that is the catchy little moniker Bugatti has bestowed on their latest effort) will be a limited run of three cars and is the first of six special edition ‘Bugatti Legends’ Veyrons planned for the VW supercar.
Aston Martin is teaming up with Italian design house Zagato again to mark the 50th anniversary of the DB4 GT Zagato with a new Zagato-bodied V12 Vantage. Only this solitary teaser image has been published so far, revealing the shape of the new 2011 Aston Martin V12 Vantage Zagato - which is likely to make production. The car will be shown at the Villa D’Este concours in Italy on 21 May 2011 – and Aston Martin promises this starts a new working relationship with Zagato, suggesting further models will be forthcoming.
